Hancock University is wholly owned by Hancock University., a California corporation. Hancock University. is incorporated in the state of California as a private proprietary corporation, duly formed and organized under the laws and regulations of the Secretary of State for the State of California.

Mission

Hancock University is a multipurpose educational institution, mature in its aims and ideals and confident of its capacity to respond to the demands of the future. The University offers quality professional academic programs that promote the development and the application of acquired knowledge. Hancock University's programs are offered through on campus and distance learning in a flexible format that makes it possible for working professionals to achieve their educational goals. Hancock University staff and faculty are committed to providing our students the very same personalized service that has been and will remain the hallmark of this University.

Purpose

The purpose of Hancock University is to improve quality and expand access to post-secondary educational opportunities by providing a means for individuals to learn independent of time or place and to earn competency-based degrees and other credentials that are credible to both academic institutions and employers. The University will continue to improve learning and increase access through innovative pedagogy and the creative use of technology. The University exists to enable our students to achieve their educational and professional goals. Our high quality on-campus and online programs have been designed so that our students can maximize their learning potential.

Objectives

Underpinning the University's mission is the commitment to and achievement of the following objectives:

  • Successful and affordable student-centered online and classroom instruction and learning;

Institutional Effectiveness and Student Outcomes Assessment

Hancock University is committed to its mission and to continuous improvement of its programs and services. Assessment is the ongoing process of evaluating students’ academic achievements. Students, faculty mentors, staff, and external constituencies are asked to participate in assessment and institutional effectiveness activities, that may include, but are not limited to, examination, performance assessments, questionnaires, surveys, interviews, portfolios, case studies, comprehensive exams and follow-up studies.
